Connection instructions

   1) Connection via IrDa

a)   Start the program Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones and go to Tools - Options - Connection&Common - Connection menu. Check the IrDa option there.

b)   Start "OPM Agent" application in the phone and choose "Start IrDa exchange" menu item:

Point phone's IrDa beam towards PC's one. Make sure that they are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between them. After that, press F5 and the program will find the phone and connect to it.
c)   Do not forget to exit from "OPM Agent" application after you finished working with the program. Note that infrared port is not deactivated after any period of inactivity and thus consumes battery power.
d)   It doesn't matter in what order you activate the programs on PC and in the phone. In other words you can perform actions in b) first, then run the program on PC. We recommend to turn off "IrDA" option if you work with Oxygen Phone Manager in offline mode because searching for IR devices uses CPU resources.

2)Connection via Bluetooth

a)   Connecting the first time.
Start "OPM Agent" application in the phone and choose "Start BT exchange" menu item:

If Bluetooth is not started the following message will be shown:

Select "Yes". The phone will start searching available Bluetooth devices:

Select the one which corresponds to your PC. If the devices are not paired yet they will ask to enter pass code for pairing:

After entering the pass code and confirming you have the connection between the phone and PC (not the program!) established.
II. Now you need to learn which virtual serial port is assigned to your "serial port" service. Go to Bluetooth options and check properties of serial port service of your PC device (screenshot is shown for device with Widcomm drivers):

Remember the value (COM18 in this case) from the 'Bluetooth configuration' -> 'Client applications' -> 'Bluetooth serial port' -> 'Properties' option.

Now run the Oxygen Phone Manager, go to the options window and add the corresponding port:

After that, the program should find the phone and start exchanging data. Your PC may ask confirmation of accessing the port (depending on Bluetooth drivers) – do that.

b)   Connecting paired devices.
When you connect next time the phone may not ask the questions it had asked the first time. Also, you can run the PC program first and then start OPM Agent.
